City Councilman Ron Stake Kicks Off Campaign for Reynoldsburg Mayor
Walks in the Annual July 4 Parade with Many Supporters
REYNOLDSBURG, OH -- Reynoldsburg City Councilman Ron Stake kicked off his 2007 bid for Mayor of Reynoldsburg by walking with a group of his supporters in the City’s July 4 parade today.
“The spirit of this important day in our country’s history and the parade tradition in Reynoldsburg is the perfect backdrop for launching my campaign,” said Stake. “My campaign will be rooted in respect and support for the City, its citizens, our events and the public process.”
New Leadership from a Proven Leader
Stake, an At-Large member of the Reynoldsburg City Council is an accomplished business and community leader who has been serving the city since 2002. Responding to the needs of more than 34,000 citizens, he has worked diligently to keep pace with the City’s needs. Currently, he serves as chair of the City’s Finance Committee and vice chair of the Safety Committee.
As a candidate for mayor, Stake supports and promotes economic development for Reynoldsburg, fiscal responsibility, pledges to work with local school systems to help educate children. Stake also pledges to embrace Reynoldsburg’s “Compact on Respect” while leading with honesty, integrity and commitment.
“Reynoldsburg is truly at a crossroad to the future,” said Stake. We face many unique challenges and have many exciting new opportunities on the horizon as our city grows. To meet these demands, Reynoldsburg needs a mayor who has a proven track record in both the public and private sectors and who can lead with integrity and vision. I am that proven leader,” Stake added.
A political science graduate with a concentration in public administration from Westfield State College, MA, Stake served as an intern at the Center for Development Policy in Washington, D.C., and completed leadership training at The Ohio State University’s John Glenn Institute for Public Service and Public Policy. He is also a graduate of the Municipal League Leadership Training Academy.
Stake has served three consecutive years as president of the Reynoldsburg Republican Club and was appointed to the National Republican Congressional Committee Business Advisory Council and was awarded 2005 “Businessman of the Year” honors. He is also vice president of the Rotary Club of Reynoldsburg-Pickerington.
Stake is president and CEO of the Financial Benefit Corporation. Currently, he is also serving as treasurer and trustee of the Ohio Small Business Association and legislative chair of the Ohio Burglar and Fire Alarm Association.
Stake, his wife Greta, who is president of the Reynoldsburg Women’s Republican Club, and their three children have been residents of Reynoldsburg since 1991.
